I have been looking at pretty pictures of baked eggs since this post on Apartment Therapy.
I got all my ingredients around and kinda threw random things/spices in a baking dish. I tried it before I wasted all my eggs and it was yummy! I cracked my eggs, put it in the oven, and called my cousin to brag about how awesome I am.
While they were cooking I read something that alarmed me. “The eggs in this recipe will not be fully cooked, which may be of concern if salmonella is a problem in your area.”
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaht?! I am not worried about salmonella — I could eat a whole batch of raw cookie dough. Texture is my issue.
Why did I think an egg suspended in cream would cook fully? I hate eggs with any kind of snotty, runny, gross, icky, stuff. Soooo I overcooked them.
They taste great. I bet they would have been wonderful if the yolks were cooked right and not hard boiled. Even with the amazingish flavor I almost puke over the texture.
My husband said they were just “ok” AFTER he polished off almost the whole dish.
I guess next time I will read the through the recipe instead of drooling over pictures.

At 4 a.m., Boo yelled to me that she needed some medicine because her nose was stuffy. I stumbled into her room with the magic breathing medicine. After her nostrils were clear I tucked her back into bed and gave her a kiss.
“Night, Boo.”
“Good night.”
“I love you, Boo.”
*Silence*
“Boo, I said I love you.”
“And mommy, I said GOOD NIGHT.”

Today we left our car under a foot of snow and spent the day warm and cozy inside. Ace and Boo usually have to go to Great Gramma’s house to bake but today I was feeling rather domestic.
The kids pulled up a chair and we were ready to make pumpkin bread!
Five minutes into their “helping” I realized I didn’t have enough coffee in my system.
After refueling I was ready to give them jobs to do instead of listening to them argue about who was going to stir.
Boo says “I am going to be a perfect chef when I am old enough to get a job.”
Ace just wanted to lick the bowl again.
They patiently waited a whole hour for the bread to be done.
It was an awesome day.
